September 30, 2008: Special Board Meeting


Mayor Maciol opened the special meeting at 7:04 PM with the pledge to the flag and roll call.

Present: Mayor Maciol, Trustee Bialek, Trustee Jarosz, Trustee McCoy and Trustee Semeniak. 

Mayor Maciol opened the meeting by stating the only item on the agenda under old business was the Americ Associates Investigation.  There was nothing further that he could state publicly at this time and requested to go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter.

Motion by Trustee McCoy and a second by Trustee Semeniak to enter into executive session to discuss a personnel matter at 7:06 PM.

Motion by Trustee Semeniak and a second by Trustee Jarosz to close executive session at 8:11 PM.

Motion by Trustee Jarosz and a second by Trustee Bialek to re-open the special meeting at 8:11 PM.

Mayor Maciol provided the following statement regarding the personnel matter:

            "We have received notification that Chief Frankland effective October 6th, which is next Monday, will be retiring as the New York Mills Chief of Police.  He will continue for a period of time as an employee assisting in the smooth transition of his successor.  With the retirement of Brad Frankland as Chief, the Village Board has ended its investigation that was requested by DA Scott McNamara.  DA McNamara is aware of Chief Frankland's intent to retire."

With no further business and on a motion by Trustee Bialek and a second by Trustee Semeniak the special meeting was adjourned at 8:13 PM.
